Baptism Records

Baptism records provide a fascinating insight into the lives of both individuals and the changing face of communities over time. Our records for Little Cornard lift the lid on who lived here, what professions they worked in (and even if they gave birth out of wedlock!)

The original baptism records are held at Suffolk Archives. The first set of images displayed below date from Victorian times, when the then vicar painstakingly hand-copied the earliest records, notes and annotations dating from the 16th century. The second set of images are of the original baptism records beginning in 1875 and continuing until 1923.

If you would like to see transcripts spanning the full set of original baptism records, these are available to view on an interactive tablet device in All Saints Church. Please check our service times or email the church team if you wish to visit: churchonthehill@parishchurch.co.uk
