Little Cornard War Memorial

Our memorials and commonwealth graves at Little Cornard Church commemorate military personnel with Little Cornard connections who lost their lives during and in the aftermath of the First World War (1914-1918) and the Second World War (1939-1945).

Use the gallery below to discover more about the stories of each individual.

There is also an illustrated exhibition dedicated to the stories behind the names and an accompanying handling collection. Please email the team if you would like more information or wish to loan the exhibition and two handling suitcases: churchonthehill@parishchurch.co.uk

World War Two Memories Community Oral History Project

In Spring 2025 students from the University of Essex interviewed members of the Little Cornard community about their shared family memories of war. Stories passed down through the generations have now been preserved and digitised for all to hear.
